I offer a warm and grounded space for adults aged 18 and over who feel overwhelmed, stuck or unsure how to move forward. Many people come to me when life feels heavier than usual, when they have been coping for a long time but something inside is beginning to strain. Therapy can be a place to pause, breathe and make sense of what is happening, without judgement or pressure. I am an integrative and humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor (MBACP). Psychotherapeutic counselling simply means working at a deeper emotional level, exploring the experiences, patterns and beliefs that shape how you feel and relate to the world. It is not about fixing you, but about understanding you, helping you feel more connected to yourself and more able to navigate life with clarity and steadiness. My approach is relational, steady and collaborative, and you do not need to have the right words. We can explore things gently together, at your pace. I work with people facing a wide range of emotional and life challenges, from anxiety, burnout and low mood to grief, identity changes, relationship difficulties and the impact of long term health conditions. Many clients come to me when they feel overwhelmed or disconnected, or when something in their life no longer feels manageable. I have worked as a therapist across charities in the North East and within NHS GP surgeries, supporting people through many different emotional experiences. Alongside this, I bring over a decade of experience in leadership and coaching roles, which gives me a deep understanding of the pressures people carry, the expectations, the emotional labour and the quiet weight of holding everything together. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I work in line with their ethical framework to ensure a safe, respectful and confidential space for every client. Sessions with me are calm, spacious and attuned. I pay close attention to what is happening for you in the moment, helping you notice feelings, patterns and responses as they arise. We might explore these with kindness, use grounding techniques to help you feel more present or work creatively when words feel limited. Whatever you bring, there is room for it here. If something in you is asking for support, space or understanding, I would be glad to offer that. You are welcome to reach out for a free introductory call, and I offer sessions in person, online or by phone so you can choose the way of working that feels most comfortable for you.
